Autumn term start !

The autumn term start from last week. One week past very soon and I met some new teacher in the classes. There are many types of classes especially in English classes so I want to learn many things from each teachers. Most of classes I have in this term is English class. In this term, I want to set my distinct goal. I'm going to use new words which I learn in my writing and improve my vocabulary.

Anyway, I'm happy that I can study with my section mates again.

My summer vacation

Today is last day of this summer vacation. In this summer, I had a plan to study in NZ using SEA program. however, I didn't go because of bad health. It was sad that I did't go abroad in this summer but I recharged myself in Japan to study from September with good condition. Now, I'm fine so I'll be careful to my health.
I didn't go to abroad but I went to Simoda, Sizuoka with my friends at last of my summer vacation. It was very fun trip! We stayed a  cottage. There ware one big room so we cooked dinner and sleep together. It was like a big family! I really enjoyed this trip. I thanks my friends :) I'm looking forward to trip again with my friends.

Continue to learning Fallacies

In the last class of ARW, we had a discussion and Course Wide Test about Fallacies. There are many kind of Fallacies and some of those are similar. Some questions of CWT is difficult to judge that  which is the correct one. Especially, sweeping generalization and Hasty generalization is very similar. Anyway, Fallacies are important for us to learn in college. I have to continue to learn Fallacies.

Various Fallacies

In the last class, we learned about various Fallacies. I learned this of Japanese when I was in high school and I felt that it is difficult. Then, I learned this by English in the college. I couldn't understand about Red herring at first. However, step by step, I understand these thanks to my friends and teacher's explanation. Blogs written by my friends also help me to understand definition of Fallacies.

Find key point!

In the last class of ARW, I learned about syllogism and fallacies. It is difficult but this way of thinking is very important and useful for my essay. When I wrote and read long paragraph, sometimes I misunderstand the main idea. So to find key point and connect them help me to understand more clearly.

66%: How much could I learn?

I was surprised that 66% of contents of the class are already done. It is very fast that to the time have passes. There is no time only to think that I have to do... I have to do....
How much could I learn from 66% of the class? From now on, how much can I learn from the left class?
I thanks that there are many people who teach me around me, teacher, friends and "Grammarly". However, only the things what I "DO" can improve my English skill.

Before I take this class, I had never written or read blog but I'm going to continue this blog after this class end.

I love reading novel so I'm looking forward to reading " Old Man and Sea."

How to start writing

Through LBH and videos, I learned about how to write outline and draft. It is first step to write five paragraph. It is a draft so I don't have to write complete writing and it is OK to use "?" if I don't have enough information to write.   

When I write something, I tend to think about the thing only in my mind. So I have to write down the process of my thought. 

Also, When I write, I often go to library to concentrate writing because there is not noise.  However, sometimes speaking someone about the content is important, too. 

A lot of way to learn

In the last ARW class, I read and evaluate a paragraph of CWT written by some 3H student. It is difficult to evaluate another student's paragraph but I could learn a lot from it. I feel that level of some student's vocabulary and grammar is very high. To me, there are many sentences that I can understand but maybe I can't write by myself without dictionary.
Also, in the class, I learned how to use "Evernote" and "Grammerly". Before entering ICU, I hardly use PC to check my writing. So I'm surprised that how useful is this!  First, I wonder that it is good or not that being checked grammar by PC. But it was good! I can learn not only point I missed but also the reason it is incorrect. "Grammerly "find many mistake on my writing so I want to reduce the number of it in the future.
Now, It is hard to handle these, to me. However I believe that these many way to learn improve me and help me!

What I learned and tutorial

At the last ARW class, I learned that how to write comment for the article. I don't need to decide agree or disagree for the article. It is OK to add something to the article. Also, when write comment, I have to divide my opinion and author's opinion. When paraphrase the word  form article, I have to show the citation of it.

From the video of tutorial, I feel that it is important to write down information about the topic. I 'm going to write about New Zealand culture, Maori, so I have to get more information to write outline for the next tutorial.

Erase the racism

"We are all monkeys "  I couldn't understand the meaning of this sentence at first. I didn't know why all parson have banana?  Then when I saw this video twice , I really understood the meaning of this. Simply, I thought that "we are all monkey "means that we are all same human. Also, there should be difference between us because we never have same background. If we try to know more and more about other's background, we may be not to care about theirs skin and nationality.

Power of ICU: I want to go power spot

Before I die, I have a lot of things that I want to do. One of that is to go to power spots in the world and feel the power. In the past, my friends told me that she can get power when she touch the big tree of ICU. I was very surprised to hear that. I couldn't feel that power when I did same way. However, there may be many power spot in the world. I think that there are different power spots in each country. Before I die, I want to see many great nature not through the TV, but by my own eyes! Then I want to feel the power which I can't feel in this place I live now.

Imagine through the Enter-net

Do you know the word " Netiquette"? It is a word made by adding "net" to "etiquette". When write and tell something by using Enter-net, it is important to think how to tell that. Basically, it is same as a real world manners. However, people should be careful in the Enter-net especially. People have to remember that in the Enter-net, the things people wrote are left. Also, the writer can't  know who is looking at the writhing. That are different between real and the Enter- net. I think the key word is "imagine" to use Enter- net comfortable for both reader and writer. In the real world people may can feel because they can hear the voice and look faces each other. But in the Enter- net, people can't do that so there is a word "netiquette". I can't list up the things people have to do and don't have to. It is difficult to imagine perfectly. So it is important to have knowledge and imagine...

Finally, I imagine people's face who looking at this blog, people who are in somewhere I don't know. I don't know but I imagine you.

Take it easy

It is often said that people who start  their life at new places sometimes become " gogatsubyou". This indicate people who can not live comfortable at new place and especially after the long holiday of May. I hear many people use the word " gogatsubyou", but I think it is not so serious problem to think.  However, we can not avoid this. It is natural people feel something different condition when they start new things. I think, one important thing is not to forget that it is OK to become "gogatsubyou" in spring and believe that times solve problem. When feel that this may be "gogatsubyou", try to not to think seriously, then take it easy and enjoy holiday!

Japan's population crisis

I surprised when I read that " by 2060, the government estimates , nearly half of people in Japan will be over 65." According the article, one reason of this problem is people who don't get marry. And there are both cultural and economic barriers. I' m interested in the cultural point. Article say that in Japanese tradition, marriage usually ends a woman's working career. Now I often heard the word, woman who both have children and job. However, I think it is difficult for woman to do this without other people's help. People who is near such a woman have to understand that situation. Then, we have to change the tradition even if it is not easy.

Not only Human

In this world, there are different life. I don't know whether human is intelligent or not. Because I feel that human, include me , don't make effort to use their ability even if human has intelligent brain. On the other hand, I think bee is one of intelligent life. I heard that a bee can tell where the honey is by their dance!! I surprised that bee can  communicate by dancing. When I understand that bee's ability, I felt that how intelligent are bee! Maybe there are many intelligent life in this earth. I want to be intelligent life, too. But, before that, I have to find what is my ability.

Sleepy but ...

Many people looks sleepy in ICU but I really understood that ICU is different from other college in Japan. I feel I'm very lucky person to enter the ICU from ICU high school. Then, I was surprised that there was a person who change the major  at 23 times! I think 23 times is a little over but I feel that changing is not bad things at all. Before entering ICU, I'm afraid of that I don't decide anything and  I was a little nervous.  However,  hearing this class, it is OK to change and try anythings. One of the most important things is learning for me. I decided it before entering ICU but now there is a lot of things what I'm interested  in. However, I have no time to do all things in ICU.Now, I feel happy to be a student of ICU, I'm very happy that my college life is very busy.Now, I'm very sleepy....good night.

Don't judge a book by it's cover

If one book looks difficult to read from seeing cover, it may be not so difficult to understand and it may be interesting. We should judge the contents after the reading. Not only books but also people is same. I meet many new people in April. I feel that I can't judge only looks of people, too. I can find many charming parts when I talk with. I want to talk more with my friend and teacher, then I will know some new and understand more about them!

Will It be a Perfect Day?

There may be various perfect day for each. To me, the day something is start is near the perfect day. Yesterday, My father bought me new PC, Mac! Today, I start using my new PC. I'm writing this blog from it but I haven't understood how to use really yet. To me, today is a start of my day with new PC. From today, I want to be a girl who is good at digital machine. Today is start. Will it be a perfect day?I wish so...
